how to lengthen pendent light cord ?

Home depot sells a can light converter to pendent light. It screws in the bulb receptacle and has a cover that slides up the cord to hide the old canned light fixture. But it only comes in 48 inch cord and we need about 70 inch because of the high ceiling. Does anyone know how I can make the cord longer? The cord is sealed into both ends.
I will try to post a pic of the light.

You can't splice it so you would have to replace it. Can the connections on both ends be opened so you can replace the cord?

The cord seems to be molded into the ends.

Just for grins, how high is the ceiling? You say you need a 6 foot cord and typical mounting is normally 30 inches above a table or countertop. That makes it 5-6 foot above the floor.

The ceiling is about 12 foot high. This is a light over kitchen sink.

Also, I should have mentioned that this is a cathedral ceiling with no way to access the attic where the light is. That is why I would like this very simple to install light.

You can't make the cord on that complete unit longer. With your ceiling height, I would install a converter kit in the recessed fixture that can be used to connect and supply any pendant light you want. Then you can buy and/or modify the fixture to meet your needs.

Here are two examples. Other, similar devices may also be available:
