I need advice on repairing a light fixture.

In my bathroom there is a lighting fixture with 3 sockets. See the accompanying photos. The socket on the left is loose. I can move the socket and bulb with my hand. I would like to tighten up or replace the loose socket. It appears that in order to to do that, one must access the socket from in back of the wood panel visible in the photos. There are two decorative nuts on the front of the wood panel. There is brass trim around the panel. I thought if I took the nuts off, the panel and the trim would come off the wall together, or the panel would come off the trim. I took off the nuts, and that exposed two threaded shafts that protruded from holes in the trim. I pulled on the panel as hard as I dared, and it would not come off. What can I do to get that thing off of there without damaging anything?

Those brass collars will pull off if twisted back and forth. You should be able to remove the wood after that.
