Light Switch Crackles When Turned On

Hi, when I turn on my light switch to the front porch light, it crackles for a couple seconds before the light turns on. I am no electrician, but anything making that sound that deals with electricity can't be good. Here is a picture of the light switch connections. It has another switch beside it that powers an outlet in the dining room. It was like this when I bought the house. Just replace the switch? Anything about the wiring seem odd or incorrect? Thanks!

I suggest replacing the switch. It sounds like the contacts are starting to fail.

When you do change the switch, wirenut the, what appears to be three wires on the bottom together and then run a short piece of wire (pigtail) to the switch. You may not have more than one wire per screw.

And do not back stab the other wire. Put it under the screws. Backstabs are more likely to fail.
