Hello, We have a 3 bedroom home. The same ceiling light fixtures are in all 3 bedrooms when we bought the home. 2 of the bedrooms have working ceiling lights controlled by a light switch on the wall. The 3rd bedroom is not connected. When I remove the ceiling light the wires are not connected to any other wires going into the ceiling like the other 2 bedrooms are which are connected to the light switches. In this bedroom that is not connected, there is a single drill hole into the ceiling like the other 2 bedrooms. How do I go about finding where to connect this ceiling light to the light switch that is already in this bedroom? There are 3 outlets in this bedroom and 1 is controlled by the light switch meaning if I turn the light switch on the wall to the on position the outlet has power and off no power. The other 2 electrical outlets have power always. I would like to do this myself and could use guidance in what to do, what tools I need, and anything I will need to purchase to do this correctly. This room is going to be our nursery for our baby that is due soon so I would like to get this project complete before baby is here. finishing a a family room that has lots of recessed lights on several different switches. They are HALO H7ICAT and H27ICAT cans (made by Cooper). I think the bulbs I would probably use would be 65W BR30, but this depends on the trim, which I don't have yet cause trying to figure all this out. I looked at some BR30 equivalent LED's, and they said to check the recessed light to see if OK to use them, but of course I didn't find the answer on Cooper site and they want to sell you a retro-fit kit that attaches with edison screw adapter and makes it low voltage LED and includes the LED. I think it is over $50! I don't know if I will live long enough or be in this house to make back that in energy savings! Also looking at Lutron dimmers and if I get the universal (works with incandescent, LED, CFL), it was maxed at 150W. So essentially you have to use LED or CFL cause in my case one switch has 4 lights, and 2 have 3 lights so each of these would exceed the limit if use 65 W incandescent. If go with regular dimmer, then would have to replace it in future assuming these BR30 incandescent bulbs will also be gone? any advice on this would be appreciated.
