Wiring diagram for recessed lighting
Hi All,
I'm new here and hoping someone could confirm that my plans for wiring recessed lighting is correct. I've done plenty of automotive wiring but not much in the home.
I have a closed off box that looks to have been where a receptacle outlet use to run from. It looks ok and makes sense that it's boxed off given how the house was remodeled some time ago.
I plan to tap of this can run a wire to my new switch and then to the 4 new recessed lights. Can someone take a look at my crude drawing (attached) and confirm or let me know if I'm missing something? Much appreciated

Welcome to the forums.
Your wiring diagram looks ok.
Your new wiring would need to be the same size as what you find in that box.
It would probably be a good idea to determine what circuit is in that box so that you don't connect the lights to a circuit where they shouldn't be connected like for example a bathroom or kitchen counter receptacles.
