Ceiling fan and two ceiling lights issue

I got a bedroom in a rental property that has two ceiling lights run in sequence that operate from one regular wall switch. Tenant wanted a ceiling fan in the room so I put one in place of one of the lights (1st in the sequence). The Hunter ceiling fan has a pull chain for both the lights and the fan but problem is, now to have the fan on at night, you have to unscrew the bulbs in the 2nd light fixture to have all the lights off. Any ideas on how to solve this without running another wire and installing another switch (to control 2nd fixture)?

Thanks in advance

Install a remote in the second light and leave the switch on all the time (or just remove it and make both fixtures always hot).
