I apologize if this is too long, but I'm trying to explain things clearly enough that hopefully someone will know what I'm talking about. I have recessed lights in the kitchen which have two switches. One used to be on a dimmer, but my husband hated it, so he switched the dimmer to just a light switch. This is the main switch we have used all the time, but there is another switch in another part of the room. The lights worked perfectly for several months after he replaced the dimmer. One day he flipped the switch we never use (the one that was never a dimmer switch) - he heard a pop, the lights all went out, and they won't come back on. He checked the breaker and it was fine. We have all tried every option of on/off between the two switches, and nothing works. He has a tester to see if wires are getting any power or not, and there is power to the switch. What else should we be checking? We are at a loss as to what could have happened and just aren't sure what to do next at this point. Any ideas of what could have caused this and/or what else we need to check? Thanks!

Hello... I am wondering if there are such things as ceiling fixtures with outlets built in. I currently have a fan installed in my basement that is controlled by two switches (one for the lights, one for the fan). I would like to instead install a ceiling fixture with light(s) suitable for a 16'x18' room and a projector, the latter needing an outlet to plug into. Is it possible given the current setup, and do they already build fixtures comprised like this? Please let me know what other information I can provide, have not worked with wiring very much before, thank you for your responses.
