Lighting replacement (cosmetics and power saving)

I'm looking at replacing the old fluorescent ceiling lights in our living room as I don't like them, and being in use the most, is probably hurting the hydro bill more then I would like.
The room is ~15ft wide by 20-25ft long, 12ft ceilings. Currently there are a quantity of 3, two 4ft bulb fluorescent light fixtures in the ceiling.
A quick Google search gives me a ball park of 85-95w per light fixture currently in use (times 3).
Should I consider wall mount fixtures (4 of them) or maybe two larger ceiling mount lights?
Thoughts or ideas?

I like overhead lights. Wall and table lights are nice sometimes but I miss the overhead lights when I'm in a house that doesn't have them installed, like my parents' house - no overhead lights in the living room, family room or any of the bedrooms.

I personally like the ceiling lights as well.
My parents have no ceiling lights (lamps only) in their living room.
I guess I'll need to figure out what arrangement will work with this longer room. I do not think on fixture will be enough.

Most of the rooms in my house have ceiling fan/light combinations but I'm not looking at your living room at the moment

Its funny, the entire second floor and third floor bedroom has ceiling fans, but not a single ceiling fan on the main floor
