Heat light in bathroom

I have one of those red bulb heat lights in my shower. I hate it, it was there when we moved in. Can I just put a different bulb in there or do I need to change the entire fixture?

If I do need to change the fixture is the wiring the same as a normal light or is that different as well?

Thanks!

If it is a medium base bulb a regular bulb will work but you may need to use a bulb extender because some heat lamp bulb holders are deeper then the neck of a regular bulb.

You could install an R40 style flood in there or there is a clear style infra lamp you could install if just the color of the lamp is the problem.
