Ballast for UV bulb

I have an Ozone Generator where ballast and bulb are damaged. Looking for replacement parts, I figured the original parts are overprized and I am looking for alternatives.

I found this bulb that seems about the same size. Philips 11250-8 TUV 16W FAM
( BulbConnection.com - Name Brand Replacement Lamps for Less! )

How do I know if a ballast is compatible with this bulb?

I was looking at this model RSN1GPH20120 ( RSN1GPH20120 /BN @ Robertson Direct ) but am not sure if it would work of fry the bulb?

Would appreciate someone telling me if this one works or recommend a suitable alternative.

Also I do not understand why the UV bulbs need special ballasts, but I see there is a special product range for UV bulbs.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Welcome to the forums.

The specs look pretty much similar. UV tubes may have to be kept close to a set operating voltage for maximum performance in it's intended output range.

@ Geochurchi:
I tried that first. Sent a message to Robertson on Nov 20th with follow-ups on Dec 8th and 13th. If you’re asking me, their customer support is non-existing.

Thanks for your reply PJmax.

Looking at the specs of each item it appears that the ballast would work for that bulb.
