Help wiring light fixture
Hi, I have 2 ceiling lights with 2 3-way switches.
I decided to replace one of the light fixtures but made a bad job of remembering how the wires were connected.
Both of the lights have 2 cables coming in, each with a black, white, red and copper cable. One of the whites has black marker stripes.
On the light that I haven't touched, the 2 black are joined, the 2 red are joined, the 2 copper are joined, and one white goes to the light's white, and the other white has black marker stripes and goes to the light's black.
But if I copy this wiring on the light I am rewiring it doesn't work - It causes both lights (CFLs) to flicker dimly and hiss, and requires a bulb in each light to complete the circuit.
Please help to advise how to rewire the light I am replacing! Thanks, James
PS The 3-way switch next to the light I am rewiring has white on common.
The switch by the other light (both switches control the same 2 lights) has black on common and shares wires with another light circuit.

The first thing you need to fix is to add a connector to the cable into the back of the box. The second thing is to bring the box to within a 1/4 or less of being flush with the drywall. I don't know why you would have changed out the box. It was fine.
