Install 3 Way Dimmer

So I'm trying to install a 3 Way Dimmer switch. The old switch box has 2 purple wires and a red. The new Lutron Dimmer Switch has 2 red wires (one with a white stripe) , a green wire and a black wire. How do I match this with the correct wires. Please help!

Welcome to the forums.

Everything to do with a three way switch revolves around the Common screw terminal which is usually black or very dark. The other two screws are the travelers. What wire came off the common screw on the old switch.... that goes to the wire on the dimmer marked C.

You also need to make sure that dimmer works with a second standard three way switch. Many dimmers require a companion dimmer for three way operation.
