Ceiling Fan Install

Help! No clue how to install the wiring for a ceiling fan. All instructions do not mention these wire colors: yellow, brown, dual white (attached).

That looks like alarm or telephone wiring. It looks way to small to be used for line voltage.

Do you have a meter to check for voltage? Is there a box above the bracket?

Your going to have to get yourself a voltage meter and check the voltage on the wires. That's if your familiar with and able to use a meter safely. More than likely the white wires are the neutrals. Then the brown and yellow will be the switched 120v. Do you have 2 switches 1 for light and one for fan? Looks like they used brown and yellow instead of the typical black and red 3 wire romex.

Sorry for the late response. Thanks for responding!

Yellow and brown on top. Red on bottom.

From the builder of the house: dual white wires are neutral the orange and brown are hot and switch leg they're connected under the same screw on the toggle switch if you need to separate them

At the fan connect the white from the fan to the whites in the box ,and the way that switch is set up both fan and light will come on with one switch so connect black from fan to brown in the box and blue from fan to yellow in the box.
Also best to remove the wires from the switch terminals, and use pigtails with wirenuts to connect the wires back to the switch.

If there is a wire from the fan and a wire from the bracket..... just connect them and wire nut them.

With those wire colors and your area possibly requiring conduit, the green should be spliced with a pigtail connected to the metal box. Use a 10-32 ground screw in the tapped hole to secure to the box.
