Can undercabinet lighting be used overhead?

I am in the process of purchasing cabinet lighting. I see a lot available for under cabinet but little mention of overhead so, can you basically use the same under cabinet lights above.. safely? I am direct wiring to lights both under and above the cabinets (wire already there). I was looking at some American Lighting Xenon Hardwire ones ... so the unit when installed above would be upside down ..? Is there a problem with this? We will be selling soon so just looking for an economical light so, feedback on type of light is not necessary .. just whether install is safe. Thank you

No problem. The orientation of the fixture is of no importance. I assume you have an open soffit above upper cabinets that is tall enough to not trap a significant amount of heat.

Ceiling vaults up .. above the cabinet. I didn't see a problem but thought I would ask before I made the purchase. Couldn't find anything concrete on it so thanks for the confirmation, really appreciate it.
