Problem with my Hunter fan

Hi I have a Hunter fan model #21621-420. Since some weeks ago I can't use the remote control to turn on the fan, neither the light. I already changed the batteries on the remote control and also checked that the code on the fan is the same as the remote.
What could be the problem? What do I have to do?

Does that remote have a blue LED on it and does it come on when you push a button ?

No it only has a red light that goes on when you push any buttom

You might be able to troubleshoot this but I just bought a replacement universal remote control and it was pretty easy and painless to install. It comes with a receiver unit to be installed at the fan and a matching remote. Look at any big box store.

A universal remote may not work if the capacitors are built into the factory installed receiver.

How to connect the ground wiring?

Hello, When installing lighting such as a sconce or overhead light my family always taught me to take the Ground wire from the home wrap it with the Ground wire from the light fixture and screw both together onto the green ground screw on the mounting bracket. I've never questioned this until recently when I saw another way to do it and I'd like to know if we've been doing this incorrectly all this time. The other way has the Ground wire from the house wrapped around the green ground screw of the mounting bracket with excess wire leftover. This excess wire is then wrapped around the Ground wire of the light fixture and closed off with a plastic cap. So which way is correct?Read More

Is one 14/2 wire enough to run power to 2 ceiling fan/lights, a 3rd light, and 3 outlets... or do I have to make 3 separate runs? Do I need to put additional fuses in the box to run it (or them)? Also, if i run from the 3 switches, to the 3 outlets, then to the lights... will the outlets only work if the lights are on? Thanks, in mid project and don't want to burn the house down.Read More
