IC retrofit cans - trim
I am using IC retrofit cans. Can I use any kind of trim or do I need a trim specific for IC installation? I am using Commercial electric 268-358. It calls for certain trims which I think are ugly (at least the ones they had in stock). They don't match the rest of my house cans.

I have LED trims in much of the house. Since this is just a guest bedroom and I don't have LEDs anywhere on that level, I didn't want to spend the money. I know that would eliminate any heat issues.
This is what I used in the hall next to the bedroom:

Pretty basic white baffle trim.

I'm not familiar with Menards. It seems like a popular store back east.
The baffle Menards offers looks like the one linked to below, they just might not identify it as commercial electric due to marketing practices. I think you'll be fine.
Commercial Electric 6 in. White Airtight Recessed Baffle Trim (6-Pack)-HBR635WHA-6PK - The Home Depot
I use these types of trims quite often because I like the fixed position socket holder.

Okay. Thanks
I guess more generally my question was can I use any trim that fits in an IC can safely?

The manufacturer will place a sticker in the housing stating which trim kits can be used and recommended bulbs for any particular trim. It's all about the fixture not getting too hot.
You can't use any trim, but you can use something similar to what they recommend.
If you have 6" IC cans, the trim I posted will be fine.
