6" can replacement in vaulted ceiling
I need to replace the 7 6" cans in the vaulted ceiling in my kitchen.. The lights are approx 20 years old and blink after being on for 5 or ten minutes.. There is no crawl space..
Can these be replaced without cutting into the drywall??
Note that I am in Arizona and that this happens year round but is much worse in the summer..

Welcome to the forums!
Can light that are blinking on and off are doing so because they are overheating, your quote above also tells me that they are overheating. Likely the lamps (bulbs) you have installed are too high of wattage for the can/trim that is installed. Changing out the cans will not help the issue, and would be waste of time and money. If you really do have an issue with the thermal overload it can be serviced from below the ceiling.
First tell us what type (wattage, size, etc) of lamp you have installed and if they are on a dimmer. Have you recently had any insulation added?
This will likely be as easy as changing the light bulbs.

Remove the trim and bulb and look inside the can for a label. See if the label is marked "IC rated" or Approved for contact with insulation. Of you don't see anything post the model number of the can.
Do the bulbs blink, or do they turn off for a couple of minutes then come back on?

On some of the cans the bulbs can be off for 1-3 minutes, others for 25 seconds to a minute. Its been a problem for a few years but has gotten worse over the past year...
