yellow and red wires in ceiling!?

Hi, I was trying to change an old light fixture and when I opened it up I was surprised to see that in the ceiling there was only a set of a few yellow wires attached to a red wire from the old fixture and and only one other red wire in the ceiling which was attached to a black wire wire from the fixture. My new fixture has a black white and ground wire. What do I do? I have attached a picture of the old connection for clarification. Thanks!

Welcome to the forums.

Those old yellowish colored wires were probably white at one time and should be used as the white connection.

The black from your fixture connects to the red wire.

Try to find a screw inside the box where you can connect the ground wire. If not.... the fixture will be grounded thru the fixture mounting bar.
