Made my hanging light cables too short

Hi

I recently bought this ceiling light to install in my living room: New light

The light came with all the cables at full length and to shorten it, I just had to push the 3 metal wires into the ceiling cup and they stay at that length. However, I estimated the height before installing and made it a little too short (so the light is closer to the ceiling than I'd like). It's easy to push the wires into the cup but they seem to get locked into that position and there doesn't seem to be a method of pulling them back down. Is it possible to pull them back out somehow? Or is there nothing I can do?

Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the forums.

As long as you didn't cut them short you're in luck.

In the picture you'll see the red arrows. Pushing up those sleeves will release the cable. Try one at a time..... take the weight off the cable, slide the catch up and then pull the cable down.
