motion sensor spotlight not detecting motion

I have a motion sensor spotlight that stopped coming on at night when there is motion in its' path.

I have tried it in test mode and it works (while in test mode, it will be on then go off and if I walk in the sensor par the lights come on)

I have tried resetting it by tuning off the circuit breaker to the lights but it did not help

In normal mode, I can see the red flashing sensor, but for some reason it will not activate when motion is detected.

Any ideas?

Ive see that a couple of times after storms and the only solution I found was to replace.

Adding an Inline LightWave RF Dimmer Switch

In our En-suite we have 3 MR16 downlighters, a bathroom cabinet( that incorporates two small halogen spot lights and a shaver socket, all controlled by a pull cord switch. I would like to remove the pull cord switch and replace it with A Lightwave RF inline dimmer switch which is controlled remotely. The connections on the this are pretty basic live and neutral in and out and two earths. I therefore thought that it was going to be simple job of wiring it up, however I just cant get my head around the wires in the loft and where to put this switch. [ATTACH]58094[/ATTACH] This photo shows the wires concerned. In summary there are 6 cables in total, one of these is 4 core the others are 3. 5 of the live wires all join in the terminal as can be seen and so do the earths and so do the neutrals. My confusion is around the cable coming up from the bottom right of the photo which ran to the pull cord. The Black wire from this goes into the connector block in the middle of the photo and this then goes directly into another light fitting so this must be a live wire after the pull cord. That means that the red wire coming from that pull cord ( again wire coming from the bottom right of the photo ) is joining with all of the other red wires, this is the bit that is throwing me as surely this is the live before it goes into the switch, therefore surely there is a live feed going to all of the lights prior to the pull cord. Of course it may be that its perfectly ok to have a pull cord anywhere in the circuit ? Ie i would suspect to see Live feed - into switch - into lights. Is it possible that its live feed - lights - switch ? Can someone just help my telling me where in that bundle i wire in the new inline switch please. Controlling fan and lights separately

So here's my situation. Currently in my bedroom, I have one light fixture in the middle of the room. I have access to the attic, and am going to be installing recessed lighting in the room, four cans in the corners. In the middle, where the current light fixture is, I'd like to put a low profile ceiling fan, one without lights attached to it. But since they'd all be on the same wiring, the fan would be on any time the lights are on. I know with fans that have lights, you can control the fan separately from the lights, but is there a way to do it in my setup where I'm installing a fan with no lights on it, on the same switch as the recessed lighting without running it to it's own switch? Ideally, I'd love to have a wemo switch that would let me control both of them separately with my phone, but not sure how that would happen lol. Edit: Now that I look more closely at some light-less ceiling fans, I see that most of them still have a pull string that would tell me they can be switched on an off independently of the light circuit they are on. So I image if I hooked it into the same switch as the recessed lighting, I would be able to turn it on or off separately using the pull string or a remote if it came with one?Read More
