Linear Track Light Live End Power Feed

Hi guys, I'm looking to install track lighting and would like to understand the difference between these two live end feed options:

Option 1
Option 2

In my case I have a power outlet (switch controlled) near one of the ends so for the sake of simplicity I want to attach a basic power chord/plug to the power feed end. My guess is option 1 is what I need because of the side knockout is where I'd insert my chord through. Option 2 seems more for in-wall/junction box type setups because there is an accompanying wall plate/cover.

Post a pic so we can see what you have in the ceiling, you maybe able to remove the outlet and install an adapter plate and an end feed simular to this, could be a better choice than a cord

Normally track lights are hard wired. Does anything in the instructions say a cord set is permitted? Code says you must follow the manufacturers instructions.
