Light kits are basically universal, so long as you buy the right color (bright brass). Yours looks to be a Harbor Breeze, which is available at HD or other stores. Check the box stores or supply stores for a light kit that either replaces the bottom blank plate, or attaches to it via a shaft and nut set up.

This one Westinghouse 1-Light Schoolhouse Ceiling Fan Light Kit with Multi-Finish Canopies-7783300 - The Home Depot will fit via the shaft, but is a basic school house design.

i'll have to take the shaft cap down to HD and hopefully get one that fits, thanks.

any way you can tell me how you figured out what model it is? i haven't been able to look up harbor breeze and find any that match the design of mine, in terms of # of blades, ceiling flush set up, etc.

Not sure why you would have to order one, any Lowe's or Home Depot stocks them.
No location in your profile so we will have to guess.
Remove that blank trim and take it with you to make sure it's the same size.

It's almost impossible to locate an exact model from looking at pictures. I've looked at thousands of pictures for members to find a fan. I was very rarely successful.

You can take that cap to the Depot or Lowes for finding a light kit.

If you want to look further online just do a google search for "4 blade brass flush mount ceiling fan" and click on images.

Exact model will be almost impossible, especially with a 4 blade fan. Most are now 5 blades. After further search it appears the design is close to a Westinghouse Casanova as shown here. BUT, the light kit you need will be a universal one, as stated could be found at any box store. Westinghouse Casanova Supreme 42 in. Antique Brass Ceiling Fan-7812300 - The Home Depot

god this forum is antagonistic. why does it MATTER why i ordered it? i don't have a car to get to the closest HD or lowes, so it's an annoying and long bus ride while carrying a box if i manage to find what i need, and all of the websites have super cheap deals and free shipping (minus the cost for returning it, now)

Not really and no one was really seriously concerned about why you wanted to order on line. They were just curios. Bottom line buy a universal fan kit and there is a 99% chance it will fit. As you were told in the first reply brand of fan doesn't matter.
