2 gang 1 way switch wiring problem

Help! I have just bought a new 2 gang one way switch which has 2 blocks on the back each block has 3 holes: L1 L2 & C

The old switch is a Volex which has 2 blocks divided into two, each block has L1 L2 & L3

The wiring into the old switch is:
Left block:

L1 - brown
L2 - black
L3 - grey

Right block:

L2 - red
L1 - black with red tape around it
L3 - empty

So the question is simple...... which wires go to which hole on the new switch???

I hope someone can help

Does your switch look anything like below?
Is 120 volt power used in your area?

You should post pictures of your wiring and the new switch.

Be aware the pictures need scaled down for upload. Phone pictures are usually too large to be directly uploaded.

Things are done a little differently in the UK.

Your one way switches should only have two wires on it..... L1 and L2.
Your two way switches will have three wires on them...... L1 and L2 and L3.

It looks like you have/had a two way circuit and a one way circuit there. They used 2) two way switches. Without further info and based on an educated guess.........

Left block
L1 - brown - C
L2 - black - L2 (may have to reverse L1 and L2)
L3 - grey - L1

Right block
L2 - red - L2 (or L1)
L1 - black with red tape around it - C
L3 - empty
