Basement pull lamp wiring question
Hello all. This is my first post, so please bear with if I am not doing this correct.
I have a pull lamp in my basement that needs to be replaced.
Standard lamp, when I opened it, I found the wiring to look this:
two black wires and two white wires.
I bought a replacement lamp, but the configuration is different, and I don't want to mess anything up. On the new lamp, I have one screw for a black wire and one screw for a white wire and one green screw. This is completely different than what is in the original, and I don't know how to connect it.
From looking online, I discovered that the gold screw goes to the black wire, and the silver screw goes to the white wire, but I am lost as what to do with the extra wires and what gets screwed into the green port.
Any help you guys can provide would be really helpful. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forums.
It looks like you have a plastic box there which means you also have NM-b type cable that will have a bare ground in it.
You will need to remove the two white wires from the old fixture..... twist them together with a short piece (tail) of the same gauge wire, cap the three wires with a wire nut, then connect the tail to the new fixture. You'd do the same with the black wires.
There should be a bare splice inside the box that you will also need to extend to your new fixture's green screw.
