Undercabinet LED's in kitchen

Hello all, I'm looking to put some of the sticky back LED lights under my kitchen cabinets. I just completed the backsplash, putting a nice stone along both sides of the wall and would love a nice LED look to it with a dimmer switch. The one thing I'm having trouble with is I feel like I can run some LEDs along the bottom of the microwave oven that sits above the stove. I believe it would look okay but I'm curious if anybody has opinions on this. Is this going to be a problem later? Thanks in advance!

Start off with using a battery operated LED light strip. If it looks good then go with a wired one.
