1950 low voltage lighting

1950 low voltage lighting

I have a 1951 vintage home with low voltage light switching system. during remolding at some point the transformer was covered up. How can I locate the transformer it is working but I would like to know where it is so if it does go out I can replace it.

Welcome to the forums.

There is no easy way to find that transformer if it's been covered over.

It may just be in an unexpected location.
Next to or attached to electrical panel.
Attached to a pull chain light fixture in the basement or attic.
Attached to a junction box in basement ceiling.

As a last resort you can try turning circuits off one at a time. Once you've located which circuit the transformer is on.... you can check each location in that circuit.
