Using GE Silicone to repair glass on outdoor lamp

So I broke the glass shade on my outdoor light. Its hard to get a replacement shade and I dont feel like spending $100 to replace the lamp. Am thinking of using GE Silicone which is is supposed to hold at up too 400 degree heat. Any thoughts?

It will probably work but it won't last years and years. I'd say 3 to 4 years at best.

Your site doesn't take 3MB photos. Doesnt matter how it looks. Just think of a Coke Bottle with a portion of the bottom part removed. Its just one single piece. And I want to use this to glue the pices together. https://www.amazon.com/Momentive-Per...=GE+silicone+1

Specs say it can withstand 400 degree heat and is "rain ready". The light shade will be outside but under a awning.

Punted on fixing it.....

I bought a new one for $9.99 ex sales tax. Given the sealant is about 1/2 the price I decided to forgo the repair and return the sealant for a refund. So I am gonna punt the ball on this. Kicking it as far as I can.
