Light recommendation for a deck light

We have one light fixture on our deck that doesn't work. I want to replace it with something that will give decent light on the deck, but since it's lower down on the wall I don't want a spot light blinding you walking inside. I was thinking of just getting a two light flood light the older kind with the glass bulbs and aim them towards the sides. Would a single led or 150w halogen be to bright? Any recomendations would be great.

Without raising the fixture higher.... anything brighter you install will be blinding.
Floodlight bulbs pointed down will offer more light at the door but not much more on the deck.
