Help replacing old ceiling fan with light fixture

Not very familiar at all with electrical work but I'm trying to install a new light fixture where an old ceiling fan was. I tried hooking up the wires the same way the fan was and the light stayed on and did not turn off with switch.

This light fixture and the sink light have seperate switches. And my light in the living room is also affected by these wires.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Welcome to the forums.

First off.... why did you open all the connections ?

You have four cables shown.......
One is power in.
One is a switch line for that fixture. (C)
You think one is for the sink switch.
Then the last one would be the sink light.

That combo would not work.
My gut feeling is that A, B and D should be connected together.
I don't think you have a sink switch line there.....just a feed to the sink light and switch.

Do you have a meter ? You need to identify the hot cable coming in.
