I am trying to install a light fixture, but upon doing so realized that the wires are not the usual white/black or smooth/ridged; instead they are both clear and identical, with only very small text printed on them. One wire has black text, the other white (hopefully that's visible in this photo)- [ATTACH]72698[/ATTACH] My question is, does the text color correspond to the usual black/white wire color? I would really like to avoid taking apart the light and seeing which wire is installed in which part of the socket, so am hoping that perhaps someone has experience with this type of wire. If I were to guess incorrectly and wired the light backwards, how could I tell my mistake?

I am remodeling a kitchen and replacing an old recessed light with a new LED recessed kit. I am also jumping two pendent lights from the recessed light. When I hooked up the new recessed kit to the exsisting 3-wire Romex the light , and flipped the switch, the light didn't turn on. I disconnected the pendent lights so that the only light connected was the can light. Still no dice. I used a multimeter on the nuetral wire and it read 9V, and the hot didn't read any voltage. I tried switching the leads white to black and black to white, nothing. Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks
