Redoing my garage and adding gangboxes the way it's set up, I have a switch in my kitchen and a switch in the garage the wiring coming off the kitchen is 12/3 this goes to the switch in the garage that controls the lights in the garage the over door lightsingle bulb light in the garage. The wireing coming off the switch to the florescent lights is 12/2 I had to move the switch in the garage and can't remember how it was wired .

Welcome to the forums.
So does that mean at the switch in the garage you have a three wire cable from the kitchen switch and a two wire cable to the light ? Only two cables ?

No...a 3 wire line from the house to the garage switch, this controls the outside light over the garage door and a single light inside the garage after the switch is 12/2 wireing that turns on the florescent lights

Ok... now I'm lost.
I have a switch in my kitchen and now two switches in the garage.
We need to know EXACTLY what you have as far as switches and wiring.
My crystal ball is dark this week.
