3 lights, 2 junction boxes and 1 switch. Need help
1st box has. 1 light b/w. 1 power r/b/w. Then power going to 2nd box r/b/w. 2nd box has 2 lights bb/ww, power (from 1st box) r/b/w and switch b/w.
I can get the 2nd box lights to work from switch but i cant get the 1st box lights to switch off they just stay on.
Any ideas?

Welcome to the forums! Let's do some housekeeping first. We don't know where you are located since your profile is incomplete. It helps us to know.
Secondly, where are these "boxes" you refer to? Are they ceiling boxes, switch boxes, junction boxes? Posting pictures of each box with the fixture pulled away or the switch pulled out and the power off will help also. http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...your-post.html

The red wire goes through the boxes and should not be part of your light connections. Note the white wire in the bundle capped with the reds and blacks?? That goes to your switch and is technically a black wire. You need to locate the black wire associated with that white wire and connect it to your lights. I cannot clearly see it in the pictures.

Black circled white wire is actually black and should be connected to the red circled red and black and capped. All other whites combined and capped All other blacks connected and capped. I am assuming no light fixture attached to this box and it is covered. If that is not the case, let us know as more instructions are needed.

ok Solved. had to do some serious thinking.
1st JB. all whites together. black from light to black going to 2nd JB.
remaining black from power to red power to red going to 2nd JB.
2nd JB. all whites together except switch. switch white to red. All blacks together. saved some money and the wife will happy that i won't be so obsessed with lights lol
Thank you so much for your help chandler.
Cheers
