LEDs rated for ceiling fan?

Can you use any (appropriate voltage, Lumens, size, etc.) LED bulb in ceiling fans, or do fans require LED's rated for vibration (as incandescents are)? I spoke to a guy on a site that sells lighting and he said NO, but I have seen LED bulb packages that are marked "suitable for ceiling fans.

Thanx.

There's a debate on this. Some LED's will harm the remote control units in some fans, but not all. I just installed 3 candelabra base LED's in a ceiling fan and it worked fine, but no remote control was involved. With Edison based sockets, I prefer the Reveal incandescents, but they are becoming phased out due to CFL and LED's.

Read the manual that came with the fan. Most of them state "use incandescent bulbs only".
Using an LED in a fan can damage the dimmer. I see damaged dimmers frequently.

If you are not using the remote control in the fan then you can use any bulb.
If you want to dim it you'd need to install the correct wall dimmer.
