LED Downlight Flashes On, Then Off

I've got a downlight that, half the time, will come on normally when I flip the switch and stay on. The other half the time, when I flip the switch, it will come on, but then immediately turn off. It's only on for like 1/100th of a second or something. When this happens, I can just turn the switch off and then right back on, and without fail it will come on normally and stay on. This is the only light on this switch. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason, such as temperature or humidity or day or night or anything, it's completely random. The bulb is a Cree 65W equivalent.

Anyone know why this may be occurring, and what a fix might be?

The first thing to do is to put a different bulb in and see what happens.

Non standard switch?

Is the switch something other than a regular on-off switch? Motion detector switches, for example, are incompatible with many LED bulbs and fixtures.

No, not a motion detector, or dimmer, just a regular light switch.

Yes, I'll try a new bulb. I know quite a few LEDs have issues, just thought I might get a quick, obvious thing to look for.

There is a voltage convertor/power supply inside the lamp that can go bad/intermittent.
Substitution or moving that bulb to a different lamp is the best way to troubleshoot.

I moved the bulb to a different fixture and it did the same flash on, then off there. So it was the bulb. I've gotten a new one and put it in the original housing and all is well now. Thanks for the help.
