Question about the Arlington ceiling box extender

I had to trim the Arlington ceiling box extender to fit with the ceiling box I'm using and am afraid I may have trimmed too much off the length. Anybody know how far the extender has to extend within the metal ceiling box to be compliant?

Sort of difficult for us to answer since we can't see what you see. Can you post a picture of what you are doing? http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...your-post.html

The extender really only has to cover any non combustible material at the edge of the box, if I understand your situation, a pic would help.

Yes, Geochurchi, you got it right. I called Arlington and they said the same thing you did. Just has to cover the edge.
