OK , not as smart as I thought ,,,,

Years of reasonably competent DIY work , I wired a whole house a few years ago , passed inspection . Florida Ranch house , circa 2002 . Has one outdoor circuit , two garage outlets , one with GFI , back door outlet and armored cable to outside box in backyard . Was dead when we bought house , removed outdoor box(corroded and leaking) , put just wire nuts on wire and circuit fine . Just put new box with standard outlet outside , and circuit tripping again , what in the hell am I doing wrong ??

Armored cable (AC) can not be used outside. MC can if rated for it but only with connectors rated for outdoor use. Receptacle must be weather resistant and an inuse cover is better than the old flap type. Have you tried replacing the GFCI? They do go bad.
