Harbor Breeze fan receiver replacement

Greetings,

The receiver inside my fan has gone bad and I'm trying to replace it with a universal unit, unfortunately the one inside the fan seems to have the motor capacitors integrated and I don't know how I could go about doing this.

I'm attaching pictures of the original receiver and fan harness, so far I can identify all the wires except from the red, gray and yellow going into the motor.

My new receiver only has a black, blue and white wires coming out, I can wire the blue and white for the light but don't know how to wire the black and white for the fan.

Thank you.

You cannot substitute a universal remote system in place of the one you have now.
Your current DC remote receiver switches the capacitors in and out as needed. A universal one cannot do that.

Is there a way I could add a new capacitor to make it work? The original receiver can set the fan to 6 different speeds, I don't really care about that, I would be fine with 1 speed and light control.

I don't have the wiring diagram to that receiver and would highly doubt it's available online.

Well thanks anyway. I'll have to find another solution, I couldn't find a replacement receiver anywhere online.

It's not, it says fd30. I found an fd40 online for $30 might be worth the shot.

Did you fix youf fan?

Hi.

I have this same problem with Dawn Sun receiver FD30. Did you manage to get your fan fixed? Did you find the FD40? Did it work? I cannot find replacement, either.

Thank you!
