Just in case I need another lamp...

I am going to remove the pendant lamp fixture in our dining room and replacing it with a lamp from IKEA. I am hoping the new lamp will provide as much light as we are getting now, but if it doesn't I will have to add a second light.

The question is can I install some kind of junction block to the ceiling where I can wire two lamps without having to make a new hole and install a new box in the rafters?

Any ideas?

Thanks.

The box currently in your ceiling can be used as a junction box. If you want to install a second light you'll have to install another box anyhow as the box is what will mount your 2nd light. I don't know of any box or device that will allow you to install two light fixtures to one box. Never mind how that might look.
