Dewdrop fs-300 doesn't fit in electrical box due to position of ground wire.

Hello,

I am trying to install a Dewdrop fs-300 fan control switch. However, due to the positioning of the ground wire, the switch will not sit properly in the electrical box. The ground wire is positioned at the bottom of the switch instead of coming out the back. This causes the switch to sit too high in the box so that it can't be attached to the box. The only way I can see to get it to fit is to cut a slot in the box in order to give the ground wire room to fit. I am wondering if there is something that I am doing wrong or if there is a better way.

Thanks for your help,
Chris

I'd try replacing the insulated green with a #14 bare with no lug. It might be easier to maneuver. Fold it flat against the saddle up against the base of the device.

Thank you for the reply. Your suggestion worked perfectly. It was so simple and easy that I feel silly asking the question.
Thank you for your help, it was much appreciated.
