Light sensor does not work
Hello all,
I installed a lutron motion sensing switch (MS-OPS2) in my garage but the sensor is not responding.
I have followed the troubleshooting steps in the Lutron website (make sure green wire and ground are connected to the bare copper ground wire and the hot ones close the circuit loop). I reinstalled the previous switch and the lights worked.
What could be the issue? The garage has 2 sets (3' to 4') florescent light fixtures.
Thanks for all the suggestions

Are the black wires reversed maybe? Not sure if it matters on the sensor. For a regular mechanical switch it makes no difference but it might on an electronic switching device.

That switch is rated for 2A of fluorescent light switching so two fixtures should be ok. There is no polarity to the black wires on that control. The switch can take up to five minutes to start working after power up.
I'd use a voltmeter to check from the hot black wire to ground to verify that ground is there. You have a neutral in that box so you could switch to an occupancy sensor that requires a neutral. Those are usually rated much higher in amperage too.
