Identify this old track lighting connector
I'd like to get some more light fixtures for my old track, but not only can't I find any with this connector -- the guy in Minneapolis who supposedly knows this stuff took one look at mine and frowned and said "Oh no, I can't help with THAT."
The round spin-up plastic tightener is about 1" diameter. the distance from blade tip to blade tip is 3/4". I can't find any brand names on the lights or the track.
Any help will be much appreciated!

Welcome to the forums.
He couldn't help with "that" because "that" is usually a spec grade track system. The only two conductor tracks I know of are Juno and Lightolier. Samples below.

Have you looked inside all covers where splices might be made ,how about on the backside of the track?

Pete, I knew about Type J and L (Juno and Lightolier) and even Type H, but this is none of those. It's Progress Lighting, TRAK-1
Funny story... I looked at Progress Lighting's website and their modern connector looks almost identical to this old style and might even work. So I used their "Find a Dealer" tool and they list the guy who frowned and said "Oh no, I can't help with THAT."
I also found a couple of vendors on the web who sell the old style, and one person on eBay who has some, so I am feeling good about this project now.
Thanks for your fast response!

Yes, I'm hoping that someone else who has the same issue will find this thread!
I talked to a different lamp repairman in St. Paul and he said "I had the same problem! Never did figure out what brand it was -- ended up replacing the tracks and lights!"
Track lighting is expensive.
Cheers!
