No Power to Switch

This recessed light fixture has 3 lines coming into the box. Two of them are register voltage (pen tester) but the one going towards the wall and presumably the switch does not. This makes sense since the switch doesnt work. All the wires are snug in the wire nuts and it did work at some point. The recessed lights come on when the breaker is on, the switch is just out of the loop. Any clues if this is wired correctly? Unfortunately I didnt snag a picture from the attic so I did the best I could from below.

You can't use a non contact tester for real testing. Tell us all the wires at the switch and how they are connected.

The switch has two lines going in. Blacks are connected to the switch, whites nutted together.

Based on that description..... that would mean all whites should be connected together and all blacks should be connected together.

I see a white/black connection. That would indicate a switch loop and your switch wiring description would be incorrect.
