Black, red and white into light switch - replacing with switch/light combo

Hello

i have a old light switch that has 1 black wire and 1 red wire and 1 white wire coming connected. I want to replace it with a leviton receptacle/switch combo that I bought from Home Depot.

I put the neutral white line to the silver screw.

I connect the red wire to the brass screw

I connect the other black wire to the black screw next to the switch.

The breaker is still there so I did not need to connecting anything to the black screw on the receptacle side.

The light switch works - but the outlet has no power at all. I tried to switch the black and red wires around between the brass screw and black screw - the light switch still works but the outlet still no power at all.

I am unsure what is the issue.

I hve attached a picture of the old light switch and it’s wiring here.

Thanks in advance!!

You do not have a neutral at that location. The white wire is either a traveler or hot wire for the three way switch you have there. You need to find another location for the receptacle or get another cable to that box.

Was not able to recover your picture. Looks like it's at Tiny pics which isn't supported here.

Pictures attached. I have posted both sides of the old light switch.

I do not believe this is a 3 way switch as I have not found any switch that can control this light, other than the one I am trying to replace.

Sure looks like a 3-way. Any other switches in the room regardless of what they do? If so you need to open and check for a bypass of the original 3-way.
