Lightbulb Is this box ceiling fan rated?

We are looking to remove a light fixture and replace with a ceiling fan. There are a total of four wires coming from the box, and a currently unused light switch in the room (suggesting there was previously a ceiling fan here, with a now unused fan control switch). There is plaster covering the box (so I can't see any fan rating tags), and the box seems to be plastic, making me concerned about installing a fan there, not to mention it does move a bit when you push up on it (doesn't seem to move if I try to pull down on it). Can anyone tell from the box configuration if it should be safe for a fan? Thanks!

Welcome to the forums.

That is a plastic box but the mounting method cannot be determined from that picture. My gut feeling is that is not a fan rated box. You have a three wire cable plus ground there. It is most likely fed by two switches.... one for fan and one for the light.

My recommendations is to replace that box with a know fan rated box.
