Ceiling Fan Capacitor

I have a 5 wire ceiling fan capacitor 5/6/4.25. I cannot find one of these anywhere. Is there something that I can use instead?

Welcome to the forums.

4.25uf is an odd value. I would consider trying a 4.5, 5, 6 uf cap.

This place has just about every fan cap made.... ceiling fan capacitors, 5 wire

So I changed the capacitor and the fan still hums, but does vot turn. I can turn the blades by hand freely.

How are you controlling the fan ie. Fan speed control?

I control the speed with a pull chain.

I have a switch controlling an outlet. I have a single black wire, a single white wire, and a ground. I would like to us that switch for a ceiling fan and have power to the outlet be full time, independant of the switch status. I have the wire run to the switch for the fan, i just cant figure out the connection. To make it worse instead of silver and brass, the switch has 2 silver screws at the top labeled load and 2 black screws at the bottom labeled line.

Coming back from gym this am, noticed that one of the gate lights was blinking. Replaced it with a new one and it went dead. Tried same bulb in a different fixture - bulb works. I am presuming then, it's bad contact in the fixture bulb receptacle. Question is, how do I get to it? I can remove the top cover, easy. But then, I need to either remove the glass portion of the fixture or, if it works that way, somehow loosen the receptacle and pull it up? If wires are long enough? The rest is in the masonry, no way to get to them. Thank you
