Cord and plug installation of a motion detecting flood light fixture

I have an exterior motion detecting flood light that is meant to be hard wired and I want to attach a 16/3 gauge length of wire to it with a 3 prong plug at the end, and then run that wire under the eaves along the backside of the rain gutters (about 30ft) ...and plug it into the GFCI protected plug in box by the front porch. Is this safe enough? How do I attach the wires to the light fixture? I haven't bought the wire yet, but I'm assuming it's color coded the same as the fixture's wire? Thanks

Cords are not acceptable as permanent wiring. You need to run 14-2 or 12-2 UF (depending on breaker amps) and hard wire.
