Wiring Range Hood Requirements

I'm roughing in wire for my kitchen. I want to install a wall mount range hood and won't have the small cabinets above the stove.

When roughing in the wiring, can I use the same circuit as my counter top outlets or do I need to pull power from somewhere else?

Should I just install a one gang outlet where the range hood will cover it? I don't have the hood yet but the instructions are showing that it will plug in.

Thanks

You can't use the same circuit as the counter tops outlets. Typically what's done is that it shares the same circuit as the range. This would assume the range is gas. It can also share the same circuit as the lighting.

What you need to check is the amperage draw that fan uses. Some are very powerful and are better on their own circuit. Most of those that I've wired were not plug in. They were hardwired in.
