Pendant Light Advice

Hi – I recently bought a new pendant light to install. I understand that this is pretty straightforward, and the white goes to white, and the black to black. However, I ran into a little confusion today. Upon removing my old light fixture. The white wire (see photo in my hand) slipped out of the ceiling and unfortunately I didn't take note on where it came out from. I am unsure where to connect this part to the ceiling since there are quite a few black/white cables, some mixed together. I took apart a few other fixtures in my home today to compare and troubleshoot, but all of those fixtures are much more simple and have just one black/white cable. I'm seeking advice/recommendation on where to put the white cable (the one in my hand photo) back into the ceiling. Once that is connected, I think i'll be set. Thank you so much!

Welcome to the forums.

I hijacked your last picture.
That piece of wire in your hand was connected to the two neutral wires. You don't really need that little stub. You can connect the white from your light directly to the neutral splice.
