Recessed lights without recessed cans how to rough in?

Hi there,
i just bought myself an old house and I'm remodeling, I live in NJ and I bought those new LED lights that have snap springs that mounts on the sheetrock and comes with junction boxes that they claim are ic rated. My question is for the rough in part, do I need to make the connections to the box or can I leave the wires hanging in place and fish for them after? And don't know how the inspector would like to see it. Thanks in advance!

You could make the connections to the box or just leave a length or cable(s) in the location of where the light will go. After it is rocked and painted you can then cut the hole to size and install the light. If you let the inspector know what lights you will be using they will likely be OK with either method.
