GE LED Bright Stik

Bought a package of these, non-dimmable.

30 year old range hood with a 3-position light switch, off-bright-half bright ?? Not sure how these work, half voltage on dim?

Will this work or ruin the LED?

Curiosity got the best of me. Put two in @ 760 lumens each and both bright and dim are the same, looks kind of dim to me compared to when I had them in the hallway. Odd.

Most of those hoods put a diode in series with the bulbs in dim mode. This allows half the effective power to get to the lights by cutting one half of the 60hz power. LED's use capacities dropper circuits and the diode will have little effect on them.

Okay, both positions are more or less full brightness then. I suppose they just seem dimmer in that dirty old hood.
